iPortalX - More Information:
iPortalX started off as a portal called MadDogs Portal. After it become more of a commericial script the name was changed to Invision Portal. After a few years later it became known as iPortal. Unfortunately when iPods, iPhones, etc came out, iPortal sounded like a dumb fad and its name was changed to iPortalX. The "X" was a metafor for "experiment" so naturally iPortalX became the new name.

How it started
iPortalX was started many years ago from per frustration when no other portal systems where complete or full of security bugs. It mainly started out as a personal project but after many people kept asking for a copy it was decided to be released as a commericial portal system with support.

"Many people and even huge communities offer asp portal systems, maybe even for free, so why choose iPortalX?" The problem from some large communities that offer free products is the lack of quaility and even security. Many community developed portal systems don't have very strict coding guidelines to ensure private data stays private. On a dailey basis other portal systems are hacked and the communties simply die afterwards. We would never want to see this happen with our product so we spend hundreds of hours making sure quality coding goes into our product.

One of the biggest problems in finding software is finding something that meets your requirements. We have spent thousands of hours designing and developing features to make the portal as fully featured as we can. We tried to add all the major required features as we could to make the portal more universal to everyone. For those that require more unqiue features, the portal is open to anyone to code or even recode features to match their needs. We believe our portal system is the closest thing to what people want out of the box.Why don't you release a free version?
We can not release a free version because of license issues with some of the software included in iPortalX. We use a message board software that is intergraded into our product. Per the agreement, we can not undersell our software to prevent people from using a free system for a paid product.Read More | Purchase License
